چکیده

This study carried out a transient wave overtopping and overflow modeling to improve the accuracy of simulated inundation due extremely large storm surges, like in worst-case scenario tsunami. Preparing an hazard map for such extreme surges is essential risk management evacuation plan. Since existing studies considering phenomena are scarce, present proposes using two kinds models that integrate runup overtopping. The model can be applied seawalls from vertical gentle slopes installed at deep water very shallow water, even on land. combined was implemented into wave-surge coupling simulation show importance simple cases typical bathymetry typhoon conditions.

Numerical Simulation of Wave Overtopping Over Composite Berm Breakwater

Breakwaters have changed a lot during their design history. Overtopping is an important parameter that its evaluation and reduction has always been noticed. In this study, the wave overtopping of composite berm breakwater as a new conceptual structure has been investigated numerical modeling was performed using FLOW-3D software. Then, based on  a laboratory model conducted by Losada et al, cali...

Computational modelling of combined storm surge and wave overtopping of embankments

In this paper we investigate the process of embankment wave overtopping combinedwith overflow due to extreme surge levels that are above the embankment crest. AReynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS-VOF) model is employed to simulate thehydrodynamics. To investigate the success of the model at reproducing thehydrodynamic processes, the model is compared with experimental laborato...

Simulation of Wave Overtopping of Maritime Structures in a Numerical Wave Flume

A numerical wave flume based on the particle finite element method PFEM is applied to simulate wave overtopping for impermeable maritime structures. An assessment of the performance and robustness of the numerical wave flume is carried out for two different cases comparing numerical results with experimental data. In the first case, a well-defined benchmark test of a simple low-crested structur...

Fully Distributed Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of an Improved Non-Uniform Traveling Wave Structure

Modeling and simulation of communication circuits at high frequency are important challenges ahead in the design and construction of these circuits. Knowing the fact that the lumped element model is not valid at high frequency, distributed analysis is presented based on active and passive transmission lines theory. In this paper, a lossy transmission line model of traveling wave switch (TWSW) i...

Boussinesq Modelling of Solitary Wave Propagation, Breaking, Runup and Overtopping

A one-dimensional hybrid numerical model is presented of a shallow-water flume with an incorporated piston paddle. The hybrid model is based on the improved Boussinesq equations by Madsen and Sørensen (1992) and the nonlinear shallow water equations. It is suitable for breaking and non-breaking waves and requires only two adjustable parameters: a friction coefficient and a wave breaking paramet...
